Renowned Nigerian artist Naira Marley, legally represented by Olalekan Ojo (SAN) & Co., has initiated a N500 million lawsuit against actress Iyabo Ojo.
The lawsuit stems from allegations made by Ojo on her Instagram account, prompting the singer to demand a public apology.
Allegations of Defamation
In a post on Instagram dated September 2023, Iyabo Ojo purportedly accused Naira Marley of engaging in spiritual and physical dealings with the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad. The singer’s legal representation claims these accusations were baseless and damaging.
Claims of Mental Torture
Furthermore, Naira Marley’s attorney highlighted that the actress accused the singer of inflicting mental torture on Mohbad.
These allegations, deemed malicious and inaccurate, have led to the demand for a public apology.
Ultimatum for Apology
The legal representatives of Naira Marley have issued a seven-day ultimatum for Iyabo Ojo to issue a formal apology on her official Instagram account and in a national newspaper.
Failure to comply with this demand could result in a lawsuit seeking N500 million in damages from the actress.
