Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, has requested that the government declare bandits to be federal public servants because it is becoming difficult for them to label them terrorists.
Bandits and kidnappers have been killing and kidnapping people in the North West in exchange for ransoms.
The former lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Central District at the 8th Assembly, was reacting to the killings of Muslim worshipers in mosques in Niger and Katsina State, as well as the deaths of Christians in churches in Kaduna.
He wrote: “They [bandits] killed Muslim worshipers in their mosques in Niger and Katsina State; they killed Christians in their Churches in Kaduna State; if the Government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.”
