The Nigerian entertainment scene has been hit with sad news as Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, a controversial figure known for his unique style and online presence, is grieving the loss of his father, Kunle Okuneye.
The news of this unfortunate event was confirmed by Debola Okuneye, the late father’s son.
He shared the heart-wrenching news with Punch, revealing that Bobrisky’s father passed away during the early hours of Monday morning.
Debola Okuneye stated, “Yes, my father died this morning, and we are making preparations for his burial.”
The sudden loss has undoubtedly left the family in shock and mourning.
A colleague and close friend of the deceased, simply known as Lastborn, also spoke about the tragic passing.
Lastborn is the Secretary of Beach Nigeria Enterprises, a car hire service located at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, where the late Kunle Okuneye worked as one of the directors.
Lastborn confirmed that the deceased would be laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs.
Lastborn further revealed, “Yes, you saw it.
It’s true, he will be buried by 4 pm today.”
The timing of the burial indicates the urgency and significance of adhering to the Islamic burial traditions.
Kunle Okuneye hailed from Ijebu-Igbo in Ogun state, and it is reported that his final resting place will be his hometown, where family and friends will gather to pay their last respects.
The community will come together to honor the memory of a man who was not only a father but also a friend, colleague, and member of the community.
