A woman was tragically killed when a container fell from a trailer in Anambra State on Thursday. The incident occurred at the Eze-Iweka area near Upper Iweka Bus Stop, along the Onitsha-Owerri Road.
Eyewitnesses said that the container fell from the trailer while goods were being unloaded. The woman was standing nearby and was crushed to death.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident and attributed it to brake failure. The FRSC said that the driver of the trailer is still at large.
The FRSC Sector Commander in Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, sympathised with the family of the dead victim. He also warned motorists to desist from disobeying traffic rules and regulations.
