Henry McGowan appeared in court on Thursday, facing a charge of murder.

He made no response when formally cautioned by Garda, the Irish police.

The case was adjourned to November 18, with McGowan remanded in custody at Cloverhill Prison.

His lawyer, Barry Fitzgerald, emphasized that Henry is dealing with severe mental health challenges.

According to Garda sources, Henry had arrived at Ballyfin Demesne a few days before the tragedy, following a trip across Europe.

Hotel staff became concerned as his behavior grew increasingly erratic, prompting them to contact his father, who was in the United States at the time.

Once alerted, John McGowan quickly made his way to the hotel, hoping to assist his son.

The Tragic Discovery

The elder McGowan was found unresponsive in the hotel’s leisure area and was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police confirmed that his death was the result of a “fatal assault,” prompting an immediate investigation.

The judge overseeing the case has authorized McGowan to receive medical care for his mental health.

Henry McGowan, a Connecticut native, had been living in a $1.9 million home in New Canaan, according to public records.
