WE4A Program Launched to Boost Business Capacity of Women-Led Enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa

The “Women Entrepreneurship for Africa” (WE4A) program, jointly supported by the European Union (EU), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to empower underserved communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly women, youth, and the informal sector.

In a collaborative effort led by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) and the German Development agency GIZ, the WE4A program is launched to enhance the business capacity of women-led enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on increasing their chances of securing follow-on funding from private sector investors.

Tony Elumelu Foundation and GIZ Implement WE4A Program to Support Underserved Communities in Sub-Saharan Africa

Implemented by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) and the German Development agency GIZ, the WE4A program targets underserved communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, offering additional grant funding of up to €50,000 along with a growth program to 15 selected enterprises identified as having high-growth potential.

Swiss Association SAFEEM Joins EU, OACPS, and BMZ in Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa

Collaborating with the EU, OACPS, and BMZ, the Swiss Association for Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets (SAFEEM) joins efforts to empower women entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa through the WE4A program, which includes an acceleration program followed by a growth program and technical assistance.
