Bradley Walsh to Host 2023 Royal Variety Show
Bradley Walsh, best known as the host of the hit ITV quiz show “The Chase” and the BBC’s “Blankety Blank,” has secured a prestigious presenting role.
He’s all set to take on the role of host for the 2023 edition of the Royal Variety Show, which will grace the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Star-Studded Event Ahead
This year’s Royal Variety Show promises to be a star-studded affair with a lineup that includes musical legend Cher and Britain’s Got Talent winner Viggo Venn.
Notably, the show falls on the centenary anniversary of Disney productions, and audiences can look forward to group performances from West End productions of “The Lion King” and “Aladdin.”
Bradley Walsh Replaces Lee Mack
Bradley Walsh is taking the reins from Lee Mack, star of “Not Going Out” and “Would I Lie To You,” who hosted the show in 2022.
Hosting this prestigious event has been an honor bestowed upon various funnymen, including Romesh Ranganathan, Alan Carr, and Miranda Hart.
Diverse Lineup of Performers
The Royal Variety Show will also feature McFly as the band celebrates its 20th anniversary. Swedish popstar Zara Larsson and eighties legend Rick Astley are among the other musical talents gracing the stage.
Game of Thrones actress and Eurovision 2023 host Hannah Waddingham will perform alongside the English National Opera.
Spice Girl Melanie C will pay tribute to the late Everton chairman and theatre producer Bill Kenwright, who recently passed away.
Bradley’s Excitement and Health Condition
Bradley Walsh expressed his excitement about being chosen to host this prestigious event, stating, “I am so excited to be presenting this year’s show.”
With a 30-year history of performing at The Royal Variety Performance, Bradley finds it an “absolute honor” to host. He emphasized the incredible lineup and the anticipation of what he has in store for the audience.
Additionally, Bradley recently opened up about dealing with a “seriously bad” health condition, blepharitis, which causes swollen and itchy eyelids.
He takes medication to manage the condition and shared how it has affected his appearance over the years.
