Australian Athlete Involved in Field Hockey Arrested in Paris Amidst Drug Scandal and Drug Dealer Arrest

In an unexpected turn of events, an Australian field hockey player has been arrested in Paris, with suspicions surrounding a drug purchase.

The arrest news broke through European crime reporter Jean-Baptiste Marty on X, formerly known as Twitter, late Wednesday night. According to Marty, the Australian field hockey team member was taken into custody for allegedly buying cocaine in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

Marty also reported that the alleged seller, found with 75 ecstasy pills, 3 grams of 2 MMC, and seven vials of cocaine, was arrested as well.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to the Australian Olympic Committee and Hockey Australia for their statements on the matter.

At this time, the gender of the arrested athlete remains unclear. Notably, both the Australian hockey teams, the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras, were eliminated from the quarterfinals earlier this week.
