Comedian Katherine Ryan has revealed she is considering a fat-transfer procedure despite acknowledging the potentially fatal risks associated with certain forms of cosmetic surgery.
The 43-year-old discussed her plans during an appearance on The Romesh Ranganathan Show, explaining that she was exploring options for enhancing her buttocks.
Ryan described a procedure that involves removing fat from one area of the body through liposuction before transferring it to another part.
She suggested she might consider the treatment but would prefer a more subtle result.
“I’m not sure what I’m doing [with my arse yet] but it will be something,” she said.
Reflecting on the popularity of fat-transfer procedures, she added that some people had pursued exaggerated proportions.
Ryan said she was considering a milder approach, acknowledging the serious risks involved.
“So I might do that, but only mildly because it is the deadliest surgery you can get,” she said.
She added: “So, I might not do it because I might die, but worth it if I don’t.”
Comedian Opens Up About Previous Cosmetic Surgery
Ryan has spoken publicly about her cosmetic procedures, including a full facelift, Botox and two breast augmentations.
She underwent her facelift in the UK last year, paying approximately £22,000 to £23,000 for the operation.
The procedure took place just two months after she gave birth to her fourth child, Holland.
The comedian later praised the outcome, describing the results as exactly what she had wanted.
“I just think my facelift is so beautiful. It’s gorgeous. It’s achieved exactly what I wanted,” she said.
Ryan also explained that she maintains a high-maintenance beauty routine because she wants to spend less time on her appearance in everyday life.
Ryan Plans to Have Her Breast Implants Removed
The mother-of-four also revealed that she intends to have her breast implants removed after years of having them.
Ryan said she had breastfed for six years and believed the changes to her breasts had influenced her feelings about having a larger bust.
“But I’m also going to get my implants out. I’ve got them out a lot in the last 20 years. Mostly for free drinks,” she said.
She added that breastfeeding had left her breasts so large that she believed she might be put off having large breasts for the rest of her life.
Ryan also addressed the criticism she receives for her confidence, saying some people object to her describing herself as one of the prettiest women in the world.
She acknowledged that she had considerable confidence in her appearance and believed she was prettier than she actually was.
Kris Jenner’s Facelift Surgeon Raised His Prices
Ryan’s latest comments come after she revealed that she abandoned plans to have a facelift with the surgeon associated with Kris Jenner’s cosmetic procedure because his fees had increased dramatically.
She initially consulted the surgeon, Steven Levine, before Jenner underwent her facelift.
At the time, Ryan said the quoted price was $174,000.
Speaking to Olivia Attwood on the Olivia’s House podcast, Ryan recalled contacting her financial adviser to discuss the exchange rate between the British pound and the US dollar, as well as whether she could obtain tax relief.
However, after Jenner’s facelift attracted widespread attention, Ryan contacted the clinic again and discovered that the surgeon’s prices had risen.
She said an assistant informed her that the fee had increased to approximately $250,000 before rising to more than $300,000.
Jenner attracted considerable attention for her youthful appearance in the period leading up to her 70th birthday, particularly during the high-profile court proceedings involving her daughter Kim Kardashian’s armed robbery case.
Ryan Chooses a UK Surgeon for Her Facelift
Unable to proceed with the American surgeon at the revised price, Ryan opted for a UK-based doctor and paid between £22,000 and £23,000 for her facelift.
She described the surgeon as skilled, affordable and ethical, despite acknowledging that the operation remained expensive.
Ryan also said she had recently attended a three-month follow-up appointment with her doctor.
During the consultation, she discussed the fees charged by another London-based practitioner, whom she said had reportedly charged a patient between £110,000 and £120,000 and whose patient had developed severe cellulitis.
Ryan’s account of the consultation with Jenner’s surgeon and her subsequent decision to undergo surgery in Britain was shared during her conversation with Attwood.
Husband Refused to Speak to Ryan Before Surgery
Ryan also revealed that her husband, Bobby Kootstra, refused to speak to her on the night she left home for York to undergo her facelift.
She recalled loading the car seat, their baby and her bag before leaving, saying Kootstra did not speak to her that evening.
Ryan said she believed men often misunderstood the appearance of cosmetic surgery and assumed the results would resemble the exaggerated features associated with some high-profile cosmetic procedures.
Despite the disagreement, Ryan has remained pleased with her facelift and has continued discussing her experiences with cosmetic treatments publicly.
