Alina Habba has made it clear that she won’t be taking on the role of Press Secretary in Donald Trump’s upcoming administration, despite earlier speculation that she was a leading candidate.

The outspoken attorney, known for her fierce advocacy, had been thought to be at the top of the list for one of the most high-profile positions in the administration.

However, she announced on Thursday that she had decided to withdraw her name from consideration.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Habba explained her decision, saying, “While I am flattered by the support and speculation, the role of Press Secretary is not a role I am considering.

Although I love screaming from a podium, I will be better served in other capacities.”

Known for her fiery demeanor, Habba has earned a reputation as one of Trump’s most aggressive defenders, particularly when handling hostile interactions with the press.

With Habba stepping aside, Karoline Leavitt, who previously served as Trump’s campaign spokeswoman, is now considered a top contender for the role.

There are also other potential candidates being discussed in Washington circles, though no official decision has been made yet.

Habba had initially joined Trump’s team as a legal advisor for several high-profile cases before moving into a senior adviser role during Trump’s 2024 campaign.
