Departures from Official Positions
Following the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and the subsequent swearing-in of Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the new governor of the state, a commissioner and two aides to the former governor have submitted their resignations.
Notable Resignations
Aminu Raimi, who served as the commissioner for infrastructure, lands, and housing, alongside Olawale Abolade, the former governor’s special assistant for photography, and Doyin Odebowale, Akeredolu’s senior special assistant for special duties and strategy, tendered their resignations on Thursday.
Conscience-Driven Resignation
In his resignation letter addressed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Aminu Raimi highlighted that his decision was based on his conscience.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve under Governor Akeredolu in various capacities and cited the late governor’s demise as the reason for his resignation.

Raimi’s letter conveyed his appreciation to Governor Akeredolu and the people of the state for the chance to serve in different roles within the government.
He recounted his tenure, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him and bidding a respectful farewell in light of Governor Akeredolu’s passing.
