Agent crushes fans hopes of seeing Sipho Mbule sign for Kaizer Chiefs!

Sundowns already one signing up!

Mbule was just one of two SuperSport United midfielders that Chiefs were thought be interested in signing in the last two transfer window. It was largely publicised that both Mbule and his former midfield partner at Matsatsantsa Teboho Mokoena were the subject of a two-horse race between Chiefs and SuperSport’s cross town rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns. Eventually Sundowns would win the race and sign Mokoena, with Amakhosi admitting to have held talks with the player’s representatives.

For many that seemed to open up a clear path for Chiefs to sign Mbule, with the thought that, there was no way that Sundowns were going to afford both players in one window. This narrative started to make more sense and gain more momentum, when reports started to emerge later in the window that, the player’s negotiations to join the Soweto giants were at an advanced stage. Cold water was then quickly poured on such prospects by SuperSport’s CEO Stan Matthews.

SuperSport question player’s professionals

Matthews went on to seemingly blast Mbule’s professionalism, saying that SuperSport were not going to reward his behaviour by sanctioning a move. He went on to illustrate that Mokoena was a model professional until his last day at the club, while Mbule had not been pulling his weight, in contrast. It was still largely thought, however, that the player would push to join Chiefs, which is preferred club of choice, according to reports.

Initially Mbule’s agent Mike Makaab, had already broken the hearts of Chiefs fans a few weeks ago, by claiming that Sundowns and SuperSport are already progressing in the negotiations to bring the player to Choorkop in the close season. Now, it seems like he has all but crushed any prospects of the player ending up at Naturena, with his latest statement.

Mbule’s agent all but rules out Chiefs move

Having been asked by a Chiefs fan on Twitter on if there is any hope of Mbule joining the club in the close season, or should their fan base just give up, Makaab did not mince his words.
