Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the R61 at the Glenmore intersection this afternoon for reports of a collision.
When emergency personnel came, they discovered that a cab and a bakkie had collided.
Paramedics arrived on the scene promptly and discovered that two individuals had suffered critical injuries and five had suffered minor injuries.
A 10-year-old child was among the badly injured victims.
The patients were treated at the scene before being sent to the hospital for additional care.
