In a recent development in Maiduguri, Borno State, three soldiers have been taken into custody by Operation Desert Sanity troops on suspicion of stealing ammunition.
The arrest occurred during a covert operation at the Maiduguri auto parks along Njimtilo Road.

According to a military source, the soldiers were apprehended while one of them was heading to Abuja, and the other two were en route to Markudi.
The operation uncovered suspicious activities at the Maiduguri auto parks, leading to the soldiers’ detention.

The military source revealed that one of the soldiers had concealed 250 rounds of 7.62 MM ammunition, hidden inside a rice bag.
Another soldier, bound for Markudi, was arrested with four fully-loaded magazines and 110 rounds concealed in a mudu of rice. The third soldier, heading to Abuja, was apprehended with 14 rounds of 7.62 MM ammunition.
