The former Nati Muodilmonal Chairman of APGA, Senator Victor Umeh has taken his tour of council areas to Idemili North and South council areas to seek their opinion on calls for him to return to the red chambers of the National Assembly come 2023.
Receiving Senator Umeh at Idemili North council area, the Secretary to the state Government Professor Solo Chukwulobelu and the former Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on political matters, Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye said that the zone felt the impact of the seventeen Months Umeh spent during the eight senate.
They resolved to support him and pleaded with senator Umeh to rise to the responsibility.
At Idemili south council area, it was a similar result as the former executive chairman of the Local Government Area, Prince Henry Ezenwa and the local government APGA chairman, Mr. Joe Ezeanya, stated that the senate needs a bold, courageous, fearless, selfless, smart and intelligent person such as Senator Umeh.
They said that the absence of Senator Umeh in the current ninth senate is telling negatively on the South East and pleaded with Senator Umeh to continue using his voice and experience to serve his people.
Responding, Senator Umeh who expressed his gratitude over the overwhelming support from his party and nonparty men in his zone assured, to make a decision in the interest of the people soon.
He reassured his commitment towards making the entire Igbo nation better, reminding them the need to participate in the electoral process saying that the power to choose a visionary leader belongs to the people.
Senator Umeh used the opportunity to call on the eligle voters in the entire southeast to be part of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise and harped on the need for unity among the Igbos.
The events were attended by the party Stakeholders in the two Local Government Areas.
