Emir of Zazzau’s Statement
The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, provided more details about the tragedy.
He explained that the victims were in the middle of the Asr prayer, around 4 pm, when the structure fell on them.
The Emir revealed that there had been visible damage to the mosque’s wall a day prior.
Bamalli mentioned, “We had previously noticed a crack on the mosque’s wall and had made plans to send civil engineers to carry out repairs.
Sadly, the catastrophe occurred before we could act.”
As a precautionary measure, he advised worshippers to conduct their prayers outside the mosque until the necessary repairs are completed.
