Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is now the richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Musk’s net worth is estimated at $208 billion, surpassing Bernard Arnault, the CEO of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, who has a net worth of $163 billion.
Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates Round Out Top 3
Jeff Bezos, the founder and former CEO of Amazon, is the third richest person in the world, with a net worth of $161 billion.
Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, is the fourth richest person in the world, with a net worth of $126 billion.
Tech Billionaires Dominate Top 10
Six of the top 10 richest people in the world are tech billionaires. In addition to Musk, Bezos, and Gates, the other tech billionaires on the list are Steve Ballmer (Microsoft), Larry Ellison (Oracle), Warren Buffett (Microsoft), Larry Page (Google), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), and Sergey Brin (Google).
