A woman has been arrested in British Columbia, Canada, after allegedly slapping a male driving instructor during a confrontation over a parking space.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said the unidentified woman was arrested in connection with the alleged assault, which took place at around 9am on Wednesday in a parking lot in Langley.

Footage of the incident has circulated widely online, showing the woman striking the instructor across the face before repeatedly arguing with him about how he had parked his vehicle.

Viral Footage Captures Physical Confrontation

The video shows the woman, dressed in a brown and black dress, boots and a denim jacket, approaching the instructor over his vehicle’s position in the parking lot.

She appeared to object to the car being parked across multiple spaces, despite the lot appearing largely empty.

During the confrontation, the woman slapped the man across the face, knocking his sunglasses off.

She then walked towards her black SUV, which was parked directly in front of his vehicle.

“Don’t you ever,” she told him as the argument continued.

The instructor then asked another person at the scene to record the woman’s registration number.

Argument Escalates as Woman Repeatedly Makes Remarks

The exchange continued as the woman challenged the instructor over his parking and repeatedly told him to “go back to your country”.

“Yeah, go ahead! Go back to your country – tell them I said that too!” she shouted in the footage.

The instructor responded by insisting that he had been born in Canada.

The woman subsequently approached him again and questioned whether he was teaching other people to drive.

The man told her to move away from him and used profanity in response to her continued remarks.

He then asked someone inside his vehicle where his phone was so he could contact the police.

As the dispute continued, the woman repeatedly accused him of parking illegally, while the instructor questioned why she had parked directly in front of him.

She also referred to encounters between women and brown men while arguing about the parking rules.

Driving Instructor Calls Police

The footage shows the instructor eventually placing a call to emergency services while the woman continued speaking to him.

He laughed as he held the phone to his ear, while the woman stood nearby with her hands on her hips.

Police subsequently confirmed that the woman had been arrested over the alleged assault.

It remains unclear whether she has been formally charged or how long she was held in custody.

RCMP Condemns Alleged Assault and Appeals for Witnesses

The Langley RCMP said it was treating the incident seriously and condemned the alleged violence.

Corporal Mansoor Sahak said: “The interaction is disturbing and in no way a reflection of the community as a whole.”

He added that officers were investigating the report and encouraged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the police.

Driving School Confirms Instructor’s Involvement

“We are aware of an incident involving one of our Instructors and are taking the matter seriously.

The company also clarified that the video had been shared by a third party with no affiliation to the business.
