Sunday, 30 January 2022 – Trana-Nzoia gubernatorial aspirant, George Natembeya, held a homecoming ceremony in Kitale, weeks after he resigned as the Rift Valley Regional Commissioner.

Thousands of Kenyans turned up to welcome him at the Kenyatta stadium and during the ceremony, there was a near stampede when the residents-both young and old, scrambled for free bread and soda.

Natembeya was accompanied to the ceremony by Azimio La Umoja allied politicians such as Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
