Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance have announced the birth of their fourth child, a son named Alec Neel Vance.
The couple shared the news on Sunday through a joint statement on social media, revealing that both mother and baby are in good health. They also expressed gratitude for the medical teams who supported the delivery.
“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning,” the statement said. “Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”
Family Thanks Medical Teams for Their Care
Along with celebrating the arrival of their son, the Vances acknowledged the care they received from healthcare professionals involved in the birth.
They thanked the military doctors and staff at Walter Reed Medical Center, as well as personnel from the White House Medical Unit, describing their support as a blessing for the family throughout the process.

She explained that while she and her husband initially felt content after welcoming their third child, her perspective gradually changed over time. She said she realized she had become increasingly enthusiastic about the possibility of another baby and believed she would be happy whether their family remained at three children or grew to four.

JD and Usha Vance first met while studying at Yale Law School before marrying on June 14, 2014, in Kentucky during an interfaith ceremony.
As of July 2026, the couple has been married for more than 12 years and now share four children together, with Alec Neel Vance becoming the newest member of the vice president’s family.
