Ukraine and Denmark have signed a new drone cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening defense collaboration, expanding joint weapons production, and improving coordination on military technology and exports.
The agreement marks the ninth drone partnership signed by Ukraine as it seeks to deepen defense ties with international allies while reinforcing its long-term security capabilities.
Agreement Expands Defense Industry Cooperation
Ukrainian officials said the new arrangement will create additional opportunities for joint defense manufacturing, the exchange of technical expertise, and greater transparency in the export of military equipment.
The government described the agreement as another step toward building a broader European security framework through closer cooperation between partner nations.
Ukraine also welcomed the growing number of countries joining its drone partnership initiative, saying the expanding network would strengthen collective defense capabilities.
Denmark Gains Access to Ukrainian Combat-Tested Technology
The agreement builds on an existing defense partnership between the two countries.
Ukraine noted that Denmark was the first nation to begin joint weapons production inside Ukraine under what has become known as the “Danish model.”
As part of the latest cooperation, Denmark will receive access to Ukrainian defense products that have been tested under wartime conditions, a move Kyiv says reflects the close level of trust and collaboration between the two governments.
Air Defense Remains a Top Priority
Alongside the drone agreement, Ukrainian officials held discussions with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
According to Kyiv, the talks focused on accelerating the delivery of Patriot missile systems and exploring broader European cooperation to improve protection against ballistic missile threats.
Ukraine said obtaining additional Patriot missiles as quickly as possible remains an urgent priority as it continues to defend against aerial attacks.
Focus on European Ballistic Missile Defense
The two sides also discussed longer-term efforts to develop stronger European capabilities for countering ballistic missile attacks.
Ukraine said expanding regional cooperation on missile defense would contribute to a more resilient European security architecture and enhance collective protection against future threats.
The discussions form part of Kyiv’s broader effort to increase defense collaboration with European partners while promoting joint development of advanced military technologies.
Ukraine Thanks Denmark for Continued Support
Ukrainian officials expressed appreciation for Denmark’s ongoing assistance since the start of the war, highlighting the country’s military, financial, and humanitarian contributions.
Kyiv also acknowledged Denmark’s participation in the PURL initiative, describing Copenhagen as a key partner in supporting Ukraine’s defense and broader recovery efforts.
The latest agreement further strengthens the strategic relationship between the two countries as Ukraine continues to expand international cooperation in defense production and security.
