After a difficult start to the 2024/25 season, TS Galaxy has appointed a new head coach following Sead Ramovic’s sudden resignation.
The German-born coach left the team after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC, which left the club winless in their first six league matches.
With just two points, Galaxy sits at the bottom of the Premiership standings, adding to the frustration of their fans.
Struggles and Setbacks for TS Galaxy
It hasn’t been a good run for the Mpumalanga-based side.
In addition to their poor league performance, they were knocked out of the Carling Knockout Cup by Magesi FC in the quarter-finals, losing 1-0 at Mbombela Stadium.
The loss came as another blow to the team, who have struggled to build on past successes.
Ramovic, who joined TS Galaxy in 2021, spent three years at the club and helped elevate them to new heights.
Under his leadership, Galaxy secured a top-six finish in the league last season and made it to the Carling Cup final, where they narrowly lost to Stellenbosch FC in a penalty shootout.
Ramovic also played a pivotal role in developing players who moved on to bigger teams in the Premiership, such as Melusi Buthelezi, Given Msimango, and Tshegofatso Nyama, among others.
Adnan Beganovic Steps Up as Head Coach
With Ramovic’s departure, TS Galaxy has chosen to promote from within, naming Adnan Beganovic, who served as Ramovic’s assistant, as the new head coach.
Tim Sukazi, the club’s president, made the announcement and reassured fans that the coaching situation is under control.
“Our coaching position is not a crisis,” Sukazi explained during an interview on Metro FM.
“When Sead Ramovic arrived, he brought two assistant coaches with him, both of whom are UEFA Pro License holders. This gave us a safety net in case something like this happened.”
Sukazi emphasized that the familiarity with the team and its systems makes this transition smoother.
Beganovic, along with Vuyo Mere as his assistant, is now tasked with turning the team’s fortunes around and leading them to better results.
What Lies Ahead for TS Galaxy?
As Adnan Beganovic takes charge, all eyes will be on TS Galaxy to see if they can recover from their tough start to the season.
With a solid coaching staff in place and a commitment to the team’s growth, the hope is that they can climb up the league standings and regain their competitive edge.
