Trap and drag incidents on London Overground, 23, 27 and 29 June 2022

On June 23, 2022, at around 09:11, someone standing on the platform at Seven Sisters station put their hand in the gap between the closing doors of an approaching train.

The person’s hand was still stuck in the train doors when it left. After a short while, the person freed their hand and sprinted alongside the train, at which point it came to a complete stop.

On June 27, 2022, at around 06:26, someone on the platform at Wembley Central station placed what seemed to be a walking rod between a set of closing train doors.

The train left with the object still stuck in the doors after an unsuccessful attempt to remove it.

After traveling a little way along the platform, the train came to a complete halt.

On June 29, 2022, at approximately 13:46, someone standing on the platform of Crouch Hill station put their umbrella between the closing doors of an approaching train.

The individual attempted to remove the umbrella, but the train once more proceeded down the platform a little way while the object was still stuck in the doors before coming to a stop.

No one was seriously hurt as a result of any of these instances.

A preliminary investigation of the circumstances behind these instances has been conducted.
