Transition VC has announced the launch of its second venture capital fund, marking another major step in its strategy to support businesses developing technologies for a low-carbon future.

The Bangalore-based investment firm revealed that Fund II is targeting $155 million in capital to invest in startups addressing some of the world’s most pressing climate and energy challenges.

Focus on Clean Energy and Decarbonization Technologies

The new investment vehicle is designed to finance companies working across a broad range of sustainability sectors.

Transition VC plans to back startups developing solutions in new energy, electric mobility, green hydrogen, energy storage, net-zero energy buildings, and other climate technologies aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

By concentrating on these sectors, the firm intends to support innovations that contribute to cleaner energy systems and industrial decarbonization.

Investments Aimed at Companies in Growth Stage

Fund II will primarily invest in businesses that have already demonstrated the technical viability of their products and secured early commercial validation.

Rather than targeting concept-stage startups or fully mature companies, the fund is focused on ventures that are progressing toward large-scale product-market fit and require capital to expand their operations.

This approach positions the fund to support companies during a critical phase of their development as they transition from early adoption to broader commercial growth.

Diverse Investor Base Supports the New Fund

Transition VC confirmed that several limited partners have already committed to the new fund.

The investor group includes returning backers alongside new international institutions, corporate investors, and family offices, reflecting broad interest in climate-focused venture capital opportunities.

The participation of both existing and new investors highlights continued confidence in the firm’s investment strategy and its focus on sustainable technology sectors.

Leadership Team Continues to Drive Investment Strategy

Transition VC is led by Co-Founder and Managing Partner Raiyaan Shingati, Co-Founder and Managing Partner Mohammed Shoeb Ali, and Partner Shantanu Chaturvedi.

The leadership team oversees the firm’s investment activities, with an emphasis on identifying and supporting innovative companies developing technologies that address energy transition and climate-related challenges.
