In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a tenth-grade boy, Harris Wolobah, met an untimely demise shortly after participating in the viral ‘One Chip Challenge,’ which involves consuming what is touted as the spiciest chip in the world.
This tragic incident unfolded in Worcester, Massachusetts, where the 14-year-old succumbed to the challenge.
A Fateful Day
On September 1, Harris complained of a stomachache at school, prompting his mother’s visit.
It was revealed that he had ingested the exceptionally spicy chip, given to him by a classmate.
Although he initially felt better upon returning home, a devastating turn occurred when he collapsed at 4:30 pm, just before heading to basketball tryouts.

Police Lt. Sean Murtha recounted that Harris was unresponsive and not breathing when discovered.

The chip is packaged in a coffin-shaped box adorned with a red skull and carries a stern warning label: ‘Keep out of reach of children.

The promotional site emphasizes seeking medical attention for complications like difficulty breathing, fainting, or prolonged nausea.
Paqui has run an advertising campaign encouraging individuals to test their tolerance for the chip’s heat, challenging them to see how long they can endure without eating or drinking to counteract the fiery sensation.
