Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott face $400000 lawsuit over unpaid bank loan in Los Angeles thirteen years after borrowing

After years of public ups and downs, former couple Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are now facing a hefty lawsuit that ties back to a financial decision they made over a decade ago.

A Los Angeles bank has filed a new legal claim against the two, demanding nearly $400,000 in unpaid debt from a loan they took out back in 2012.

A 13-Year Loan That’s Still Lingering

According to court documents, City National Bank is suing Spelling and McDermott over a $400,000 loan they originally secured 13 years ago.

The bank claims that the pair failed to meet the repayment terms of the promissory note they both signed.

This isn’t the first time the bank has taken legal action against them.

In 2016, it filed court paperwork saying the couple still owed more than $188,000.

By 2017, a judge sided with the bank and issued a judgment for over $220,000.

The Numbers Keep Climbing

Things didn’t stop there. By 2019, the total amount they owed had ballooned to over $400,000.

Legal documents reportedly show that Spelling was ordered to pay $219,796.66, while McDermott was held responsible for $202,066.10—covering the original loan and extra charges accrued over the years.

Despite the mounting financial pressure, McDermott doesn’t seem too fazed.

In fact, just this week, he took to Instagram to post a lighthearted video about yoga, joking about being torn between peace and frustration.

Wearing a T-shirt that read “Stuck between Namaste and Kiss My A**,” he tried to keep things positive for his followers.

Spelling’s Financial Troubles in the Spotlight Again

Tori Spelling’s financial woes have long been public knowledge.

Not only is she the daughter of late TV mogul Aaron Spelling, but she’s also spoken candidly about her money struggles over the years.

Less than a year ago, she even floated the idea of launching an OnlyFans account to help fund her children’s college education.

It wasn’t too long ago either that she was photographed living out of an RV with her children in Ventura County, California, during a rough financial patch.

A Split That Made Headlines

Beyond their financial turmoil, Spelling and McDermott officially separated in June 2023, after more than 17 years of marriage.

Spelling cited “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce filing and requested sole physical custody of their five children, while asking for joint legal custody.

She also asked that McDermott cover her legal fees and provide spousal support.

The couple shares five kids: Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau.

McDermott also has a son, Jack, from a previous relationship with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.

Life After Reality TV

Spelling and McDermott once opened their lives to the public with reality shows like Tori & Dean: Inn Love and Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

But now, their off-camera reality seems much messier—marked by legal battles, financial strain, and a high-profile separation.

While Tori is currently dating reality TV personality Ryan Cramer, Dean continues to find peace through yoga and spreads positivity on social media.
