  • During the past few days, many videos surfaced on social media sites of what appears to be a red color sky in China.

The citizens of Zhoushan witnessed a red sky on May 8. Social media platforms like Weibo and Sina were full of videos showing an abnormal sky.

Twitter user Anonymous Operations tweeted “in the Chinese urban district of Zhoushan, it seems that the apocalypse has begun.”

What caused the Blood-red sky in China?

According to local authorities, the incidents don’t have to do with solar activity.

Local reports assure the red color of the sky was generated by the “refraction of the red light that was coming from a fishing boat harvesting Pacific saury.”

The Zhoushan Meteorological Bureau said, “it was foggy and cloudy in Zhoushan on Saturday and it was drizzling at the time of the red sky, which might have been caused by the reflection of light from the low-level clouds.”

“When weather conditions are good, more water in the atmosphere forms aerosols which refract and scatter the light of fishing boats and create the red sky seen by the public.”

Experts from the space physics research team of the China University of Geosciences in Wuhan stated the

blood-red sky in China wasn’t caused by “any anomalies of solar activity as the solar and geomagnetic activity was calm.”

For all the people believing that the end of the world is near, probably it is coming. However, it doesn’t start with a blood-red sky in China.
