‘The Queen’s Connie Ferguson confirms ‘Kings of Joburg’ season two

The Queen actress and co-creator Connie Ferguson has confirmed reports that Ferguson Films’ hit series Kings of Joburg season two is returning to Netflix.

This comes after the untimely passing of her actor-producer husband – Shona Ferguson who passed away in 2021 from COVID-19.

CONNIE FERGUSON:KINGS OF JOBURG’ RETURNS  

Producer-actress of The Queen Connie Ferguson recently took to her Instagram account to confirm that Ferguson Films is shooting season two of Netflix’s series Kings of Joburg.

She shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram story from TV producer Sabelo Mgidi who was also part of season one.

Kings of Joburg two!!!👑After many months with the pen ✍🏽 it’s finally time!”

“The Kings are back! Hope you’re proud Grootman!!! @ferguson_films.”

“With the best team in the game @connie_ferguson @samaddavis Let’s go!”

Mgidi also took to his social media to dedicate the second season to the late Shona Ferguson by posting a video of him announcing the second season.

Shona Ferguson was the first to announce Kings of Joburg season two back in April 2021 before he passed away three months later (July 2021).

‘THE QUEEN’ IS CANCELLED  

DStv confirmed reports that Ferguson Films’ long-running telenovela The Queen is coming to end in January 2023.

The show will end after seven seasons and nearly seven years is currently wrapping up season six.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela announced the channel’s news last Friday (4 March).

“Local Entertainment Channels have announced Mzansi Magic’s The Queen and 1Magic’s Lingashoni final seasons are ending in March 2023.”

The Queen producers, Ferguson Films will shoot season seven of the show which will premiere in July 2022.”

“Viewers will continue to enjoy the telenovela on their screens until its final episode airs on 13 January 2023.”
