According to sources cited by the Daily Mail, the two-time U.S. Open champion floated the idea of contacting Trump during an emotional 30-minute dispute after tournament officials ruled that he had improved the lie of his golf ball during the second round.

The controversy began after officials determined that DeChambeau had stepped on the grass behind his ball, resulting in a two-shot penalty.
The decision immediately sparked a heated exchange, with the LIV Golf star insisting he had done nothing wrong.
Reports indicate that DeChambeau demanded to return to the location of the incident to challenge the ruling and, at one point, even threatened to withdraw from the tournament altogether.
