Sultan bin Hamdan thanks Mohamed bin Zayed for supporting camel racing
AL DHAID, 30th December, 2021 – Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President and Chairman of the UAE Camel Racing Federation, thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for supporting heritage sports, most notably camel racing.
He made this statement on the closing day of the Mohamed bin Zayed Camel Racing Festival 2021-2022, held in Al Dhaid.
Sheikh Sultan stressed that the festival is an important event for camel owners from the UAE and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
“These are not just camel races, they are an opportunity to encourage communication and cohesion among camel owners.
This is our main goal at all festivals, as we are determined to follow the approach of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to protect our heritage,” he said.
“We are lucky for our ancestors’ legacy, and we extend our appreciation and gratitude to everyone who has supported this heritage sport,” he added.
The wide participation in Al Dhaid underscores the love of camel owners for their heritage and their keenness to preserve it, he said in conclusion.
