Suicide Bomber Kills Armen Sarkisyan, Arbat Battalion Founder, in Moscow Residential Complex Blast

On February 3, 2025, tragedy struck at the Alye Parusa luxury residential complex in Moscow, where Armen Sarkisyan, the founder of the Arbat Battalion, was assassinated in a bombing.

The blast, which also claimed the life of his bodyguard and injured three others, shocked the city and sparked investigations into the motives behind the brutal attack.

The Attacker’s Identity

Authorities have identified the bomber as a 45-year-old man from Armenia with a criminal record.

He was dressed in dark clothing, with short, receding dark hair and brown eyes.

A tattoo of a sword on his leg marked him as distinctive.

According to Telegram reports, the man waited for Sarkisyan in the lobby before detonating the bomb, which law enforcement believes was made from a MON-50 mine.

Theories on the Motive

Two main theories are emerging regarding the reasons for the killing.

One theory suggests that it was a targeted assassination tied to the business world, particularly control over the tobacco market.

Sarkisyan, known as one of the largest tobacco importers in Russia, may have been caught in a power struggle within this lucrative industry.

The Impact of the Explosion

The blast at Alye Parusa rocked the complex early in the morning, leaving the 53-year-old Sarkisyan severely wounded.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors were unable to save him.

His bodyguard also died in the attack, while three other individuals were injured.

Authorities are working to uncover more details as they continue their investigation into what was behind this deadly act.
