PDP Director Addresses Controversy Surrounding Tinubu’s Academic Records

Controversy Over Tinubu’s Academic Records

The Director of Researcher and Strategy for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Don Pedro Obaseki, has weighed in on the ongoing controversies surrounding the academic records of President Bola Tinubu.

There have been claims and allegations that the certificate presented by President Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may have been forged.

Denials by Presidency and APC

It’s essential to note that these allegations have been met with denials from both the presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Despite these denials, the controversy continues to circulate.

Revelations About the Chicago State University Certificate

In an interview on AIT News, Obaseki shared some insights into the matter. He revealed that if individuals were to visit the Homeland Security Office and type the Social Security Number (SSN) associated with the Chicago State University (CSU) certificate purportedly owned by President Tinubu, it would display the name “Abimbola Adenike Tinubu.”

Notably, this certificate actually belongs to a woman who attended Southwest College and had three HSC results, which included physics, chemistry, and biology.

Issues with the Certificate Signatories

Obaseki went on to highlight another significant concern.

He pointed out that every signatory on the certificate presented by President Tinubu was not an official signatory of the university at the time when that certificate was purportedly issued.

Clarification on Depositions

In response to some misleading claims, Obaseki clarified that the depositions did not assert that the same person in question was the President.

Instead, they mentioned that a certain “Bola A,” not Ahmed Tinubu, attended Chicago State University.

This distinction is critical because it differentiates attending from graduating, and it does not confirm that the certificate presented was official.

The Social Security Number Investigation

The Director urged individuals to investigate the originating social security number (SSN) independently.

He suggested going to the homeland security office and typing it online. Doing so, according to Obaseki, would reveal that it is associated with “Abimbola Adenike Tinubu,” who attended Southwest College.

The controversy over President Tinubu’s academic records continues to raise questions and concerns, with Don Pedro Obaseki shedding light on specific discrepancies in the presented certificate.
