South Australian teen Benjamin Cross charged with online child abuse offences after American tip-off

n Australian teenager has been charged with accessing and sharing child abuse material after police raided his home following a tip-off from United States authorities.

Benjamin Cross, 19, faced court on Wednesday charged with a number of child abuse offences after officers allegedly found abusive material on a number of his electronic devices.

Detectives from South Australia’s Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team, comprised of Australian Federal Police (AFP) and SA Police officers,

Our common goal is to protect children, wherever they live, and ensure anyone who tries to harm them is identified and brought before the courts,’ Mr Moses said.

Police Special Crime Investigation Section Detective Chief Inspector Richard Lambert said the arrest should be a warning to others involved in child exploitation.

‘Law enforcement is continually working together every single day, to detect and apprehend offenders,’ Mr Lambert said.
