A cyclist, armed with a bike lock, took out his anger on a car’s windscreen during a confrontation in Elephant and Castle.

Footage shows the man walking around the parked black vehicle while holding the bike lock.

He proceeds to smash the car’s rear windscreen before swinging the lock at a man who attempted to intervene.

The incident took place on Rotherhithe Street at around 4:25 PM on March 22.

Several bystanders can be seen filming the chaotic scene as the cyclist appears to chase the driver around the vehicle.

Screams and gasps from the crowd are audible, with one person shouting, “Can you please stop?” and another asking, “What are you doing?”

Metropolitan Police responded to the altercation, with a spokesperson confirming, “Police were called to an altercation between a driver and a cyclist on Rotherhithe Street, Elephant and Castle, at 16:25hrs on Friday, 22 March.”

The spokesperson further explained that the cyclist had reportedly hit the driver’s car from behind before using a bike tool to smash the windscreen.
