Sharon Osbourne Shuts Down ‘X Factor’ Return, Calls for Reform Due to Potential Damages to Contestants

Sharon Osbourne Firmly Rejects ‘X Factor’ Comeback, Demands Systemic Changes

Renowned TV personality Sharon Osbourne has unequivocally ruled out any potential return to “The X Factor,” likening the talent show to the ‘Wild West’ and emphasizing the urgent need for an overhaul.

Having been a judge on the show from 2004 to 2007 and making subsequent returns, Osbourne has now expressed her reluctance to participate due to the perceived adverse effects on contestants.

Comparing ‘X Factor’ to the ‘Wild West’

During an interview on Greatest Hits Radio with host Jackie Brambles, Osbourne reminisced about her time on “The X Factor” and the camaraderie with fellow judges.

However, she went on to describe the talent show landscape as akin to the ‘Wild West,’ suggesting a lack of awareness regarding the impact on participants’ lives.

Osbourne stressed the necessity for comprehensive changes, highlighting the responsibility involved in handling individuals’ futures.

Concerns Over Damages to Contestants

While Osbourne acknowledges the opportunities the show provides, she is also wary of the potential damages it can inflict on contestants.

Citing the weight of responsibility in influencing people’s lives, she expressed reluctance to rejoin the show, citing the existing damages and asserting that she wouldn’t want to be part of that.

Previous Criticisms and Call for Reforms

This isn’t the first time Osbourne has criticized talent shows. A year ago, she characterized shows like “The X Factor” and “America’s Got Talent” as ‘dated’ during an interview, highlighting their overexposure and the predictable nature of their formats.

Osbourne particularly emphasized the exploitative nature of such shows, where contestants audition only to face ruthless critiques.

Osbourne’s Departure and Age Controversy

Sharon Osbourne officially left “The X Factor” judging panel in October 2018, and in 2019, she claimed her departure was due to being axed by fellow judge Simon Cowell over her age.

Despite publicized differences, Cowell later expressed interest in working with Osbourne again, acknowledging her impact on the shows.

However, Osbourne, while reconciling their personal relationship, maintained her reluctance to collaborate professionally.

Weight Loss Journey and Current Health Concerns

Apart from her television career, Osbourne has recently been in the spotlight for her significant weight loss achieved with the help of the diabetes drug Ozempic.

Despite shedding 42lbs, she now expresses concerns about being ‘too gaunt’ and desires to put some weight back on, cautioning about the risks associated with drastic changes in body weight.

The TV personality opens up about the challenges of maintaining a healthy balance and emphasizes the importance of being careful about one’s wishes.
