Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu wins South African URC Player of the Season award after outstanding performances with the Stormers in South Africa

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu just keeps adding to his growing list of achievements.

Fresh off being named the 2024 SA Rugby Young Player of the Year, he’s now clinched the South African URC Player of the Season award for 2024/25 — another huge milestone in his rapidly rising career.

Following in the Footsteps of Greats

Feinberg-Mngomezulu is joining an impressive group of past winners.

He follows Lions’ former utility back Sanele Nohamba (who’s now playing in Japan) and his own Stormers teammates Evan Roos and Manie Libbok, who took home the honor in the previous three seasons.

Clearly, the award keeps finding its way to some of the brightest stars in South African rugby.

Outshining Springbok Teammates

The 23-year-old standout earned this recognition by outplaying tough competition, including fellow Springboks Cameron Hanekom and Wilco Louw from the Bulls.

His performances on the field have been nothing short of spectacular.

Praise from SA Rugby Leadership

SA Rugby president Mark Alexander didn’t hold back in his praise: “Sacha is undoubtedly one of the finest young talents in the country.

His ability to consistently deliver top-notch performances shows just how good a player he is.

He really lit up the field this season and played a huge role in his team’s attacking success, scoring in every possible way.”

Rising Star with an Impressive International Record

Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s journey has been swift and impressive.

After captaining the Junior Springboks, he made his senior Test debut against Wales at Twickenham last June.

Since then, he has earned eight caps for the Springboks during their remarkable 2024 season, where the team won 11 out of 13 Tests and took home the Rugby Championship title.
