More than two decades after winning audiences over as bassist Katie in the 2003 comedy School of Rock, Rivkah Reyes has taken a dramatically different career path.
Now 33, Reyes—who uses they/them pronouns—has built a presence that extends beyond acting, focusing on music while also developing a successful following on OnlyFans.
The former child actor recently attracted attention by acknowledging the unusual connection between their early Hollywood success and their adult subscription platform.
In a social media post accompanying a selfie video, Reyes joked that growing up on screen may explain why their OnlyFans content has become so popular, suggesting many subscribers first knew them from childhood.
A Role That Became a Cultural Favorite
Reyes rose to prominence at just 10 years old after appearing alongside Jack Black in School of Rock, the hit comedy centered on a substitute teacher who transforms a group of private school students into a rock band.
Born Rebecca Brown, Reyes portrayed the quiet but talented bassist Katie, a performance that became one of the film’s memorable elements.
Although the movie launched their career, Reyes stepped away from Hollywood for several years before returning to acting in 2017.
Since then, they have appeared in a number of independent productions and television projects, including Too Romantic, The Merry Gentlemen, Off Shoot, Bad Animal, Monuments, and Easy.

Reyes recalled that while many fans praised their performance, others made inappropriate comments about their appearance as a child, including remarks anticipating their adulthood.
They said those experiences had a lasting impact on how they viewed themselves and influenced later relationships.
Addiction, Identity and the Road to Recovery
Reflecting on adulthood, Reyes explained that they struggled with compulsory heterosexuality despite knowing they were gay, saying they entered relationships that did not reflect their authentic identity.
They described relying on alcohol and drugs in an attempt to cope before eventually pursuing sobriety.
According to Reyes, joining Alcoholics Anonymous became a turning point.
They said embracing recovery transformed their outlook, allowed them to establish healthier personal boundaries, and introduced them to a supportive sober community in Los Angeles.
Personal Essay Detailed Years of Struggle
Reyes has also written extensively about their experiences.
In a previous Medium essay, they revealed battling addiction involving drugs, alcohol, food, sex, and self-harm between the ages of 14 and 24.
They also disclosed surviving multiple suicide attempts and spending years believing they had already reached the peak of their life as a child performer.
The essay further described intense bullying after returning to school following the film’s success, including incidents that left a lasting emotional impact.
Gratitude for School of Rock Remains Unchanged
Despite the personal challenges that followed childhood stardom, Reyes has consistently expressed appreciation for their experience making School of Rock.
They have described the atmosphere on set as supportive and praised Jack Black as a kind and encouraging colleague.
Looking back, Reyes says they remain thankful for the opportunity that launched their career, noting that while fame brought unexpected difficulties, it also gave them experiences that ultimately shaped the person they are today.
