Queen Letizia of Spain and King Felipe VI appeared solemn as they arrived at the funeral of Fernando Gomez-Acebo, the king’s cousin, at Castrense Cathedral in Madrid.
The occasion served as a moment of reflection and mourning for the royal couple, who paid their respects to Gomez-Acebo, a victim of Covid-19.

Both Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI chose attire befitting the somber atmosphere of the funeral.
Queen Letizia opted for a form-fitting black frock adorned with frayed detailing, complemented by a black leather handbag and a pearl brooch. Keeping her makeup subtle, she wore her brunette locks in a sleek style.
King Felipe VI wore a navy blue double-breasted blazer and matching trousers, paired with a crisp white shirt and a black tie.

The funeral attendance follows a series of other notable events attended by the royal couple. Queen Letizia recently appeared at a remembrance service for victims of terrorism, where she wore a sophisticated navy long-sleeved gown.
Prior to that, she dazzled in red leather trousers at the National Sports Awards in Madrid, accompanied by King Felipe VI.
Despite her sartorial prowess, Letizia encountered a humorous moment when attempting to lift a large trophy during the ceremony.

During their attendance at the National Sports Awards, Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI presented honors to athletes, including skier Ester Ledecka.
