Princess Victoria of Sweden, with kids Estelle and Oscar, welcomes women’s football team to Royal Palace after World Cup bronze win

The World Cup bronze medalists were today’s extra-special guests at the Royal Palace of the Swedish royal family in Stockholm.

Prince Carl Philip, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, and Crown Princess Victoria all seemed delighted to welcome the players.

Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle were spotted looking rather star-stuck as the royals entered the room.

For the fourth time, Sweden took home bronze in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.

They have only made it to the final once, in 2003, and were defeated by Germany. They have been to the semi-finals five times.

Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Estelle, and Prince Oscar sat for photos with the Swedish football team, who defeated this year’s hosts, Australia, in their game for third place.

Princess Victoria, 46, wore a blue maxi dress with puffed sleeves, open-toe shoes, and a necklace with the Swedish flag. She looked chic.

For the event, seven-year-old Prince Oscar wore a set of blue shorts and a football jersey with the yellow and blue colours of Sweden.

Second-in-line to the throne Princess Estelle wore a subdued, muted orange button-up dress. In addition, 44-year-old Prince Carl Philip looked sharp in a navy suit, blue tie, and shiny shoes.

Crown Princess Victoria and her two children welcomed the football squad, who gathered around them.

Even Rio, a mix between a Poodle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, appeared.

Princess Estelle, 11, grinned as she posed next to Olivia Schough, Jonna Andersson, and Caroline Seger, a midfielder and current captain of Sweden’s national football team.

In the meanwhile, to celebrate the King’s 50th Jubilee, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia paid a royal visit to the Swedish county of Gavle.

In September, the 77-year-old will mark his Golden Jubilee, making him Sweden’s longest-reigning monarch.

In a black suit and scarlet tie, the third cousin of Queen Elizabeth looked dapper as he stood with his wife today.

Queen Silvia wore a sophisticated two-piece suit that had a matching pencil skirt and sage-colored jacket with a golden trim.

The King and Queen met with Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, and his wife Olena Zelenska over the weekend.

At Stenhammar Palace in Flen, southwest of Stockholm, the Swedish royals on Saturday greeted the Ukrainian couple.

After that, President Zelensky and his wife Olena travelled to Denmark, where Crown Princess Mary welcomed them on Sunday.
