OurCrowd has formally appointed Cali Chill as Chief Executive Officer, moving him from his previous position as Acting CEO and Chief Operating Officer into the company’s top leadership role.
The Jerusalem-based investment platform said the appointment marks the beginning of a new phase for the firm, which connects its investor community with opportunities across venture capital and private markets.
Chill assumed the Acting CEO position in mid-2025 after founder Jon Medved stepped away from the company’s daily management for medical reasons.
Following more than a year in the role, OurCrowd’s Board has now confirmed him as the company’s permanent chief executive.
Seven Years of Leadership Experience
Chill brings extensive experience from across OurCrowd’s legal, investment and fund-management operations.
He joined the firm seven years ago as General Counsel before progressing to Chief Legal Officer.
He subsequently became Head of Funds and Chief Legal Officer, overseeing both OurCrowd’s internal investment funds and third-party funds.
His responsibilities later expanded further when he was appointed Chief Investment Officer and Chair of the company’s Investment Committee.
In those positions, Chill gained direct responsibility for OurCrowd’s investment strategy and deal flow, giving him significant insight into the platform’s portfolio and broader investment operations.
Career Built Across Law and Technology Investing
Before joining OurCrowd, Chill held senior legal positions in the technology investment sector.
He served as General Counsel at Nasdaq-listed Answers Corporation and later at AFCV Holdings, a technology investment company backed by private equity.
His combination of legal expertise, fund management experience and investment leadership has positioned him to oversee OurCrowd as it continues to expand its role in the private-market investment space.
Chill holds a joint LLB/MBA from Bar-Ilan University and is licensed to practice law in both Israel and New York.
OurCrowd’s Expanding Investment Footprint
OurCrowd, headquartered in Jerusalem with additional offices in Tel Aviv and Toronto, has established a substantial presence in venture and private-market investing.
The platform has raised more than $2.6 billion in commitments across more than 500 portfolio companies and dozens of investment funds.
Its portfolio has produced 73 exits to date, underscoring the scale of its investment activity.
The company’s recent track record includes the reported $2.4 billion acquisition of portfolio company BioCatch by Visa this month, adding another major transaction to OurCrowd’s list of successful exits.
A New Chapter for the Investment Platform
Chill’s permanent appointment gives OurCrowd continuity following the transition away from Medved’s day-to-day leadership while placing an executive with deep knowledge of the company’s investment machinery at its helm.
His progression from General Counsel to Chief Investment Officer, Acting CEO and now Chief Executive Officer reflects a leadership path spanning virtually every major area of the business.
The appointment also comes as OurCrowd seeks to build on its growing portfolio, investment platform and international footprint.
