With the transfer window still open for over two months, Orlando Pirates aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
They’ve already made a splash by snapping up talents like Yanela Mbuthuma, but they’re far from done.
The club seems determined to build a title-worthy squad—and the hunt continues.
Thabo Moloisane Tops the Wishlist
One of the key names on the Pirates’ radar is Stellenbosch FC’s rock-solid defender, Thabo Moloisane.
The center-back is reportedly attracting attention not just from the Buccaneers but also from their Soweto rivals, Kaizer Chiefs.
Whether or not he’s ready to make a move, though, is still a mystery.
Moloisane Keeping Faith in Timing
Speaking to SABC Sport, Moloisane acknowledged the buzz around his name, saying it’s a sign that his performances are being noticed.
“I’ve always dreamed of playing for Bafana Bafana,” he shared.
“Right now, I’m just focused on staying consistent. The rest is in God’s hands.”
He added that he believes in divine timing: “Every big moment in my career has come when the time was right.
So I’m just staying patient. Football is a short career, yes, but the right opportunity will come when it’s meant to.”
Pirates Lose Out on Fiston Mayele?
One player Pirates might have to scratch off their wishlist is Fiston Mayele.
The Congolese striker has reportedly drawn massive offers, with clubs bidding upwards of R70 million. With those kinds of figures on the table, it’s looking unlikely that Pirates will be able to compete.
Mbuth
uma Signing Raises Eyebrows
Despite the hype around Yanela Mbuthuma joining the Buccaneers, not everyone’s thrilled.
Former Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs didn’t hold back, questioning the decision to sign players from so-called “smaller clubs.”
“Why are we targeting guys from teams that can’t even crack the top eight?” Josephs said, hinting that the team should be aiming higher.
Relebohile Mofokeng’s European Ambitions
Relebohile Mofokeng, another Pirates talent, might be preparing to take flight.
With strong interest from overseas and even his father and Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos backing a move to Europe, signs point to a potential departure this transfer window.
What About Saleng?
Meanwhile, Monnapule Saleng’s future is just as murky.
Transfer rumors have surrounded him for weeks, and many expect he’ll be sold during the offseason.
However, the arrival of Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou could throw a curveball into those plans.
Is there a chance Saleng stays after all?
