Reeve Frosler and Erick Mathoho scored for Amakhosi while the Buccaneers found the back of the net through Kwame Peprah.

Now, speaking to the media after the match, Ncikazi started off by apologising, saying Pirates did not deserve to lose to Chiefs twice in one season.

Indeed this was a repeat of the first half of the season where, under Stuart Baxter, Chiefs got the better of their arch-rivals by the same scoreline.

Ncikazi hopes the Pirates fans still trust the process while also understanding that they had 11 players injured this season in addition to the change in the technical team that happened at the start of the season.

However, Ncikazi admitted that Pirates need to turn things around and be a better team going forward after this defeat to Chiefs.

ORLANDO PIRATES DON’T DESERVE TO LOSE TO CHIEFS TWICE – NCIKAZI

“I want to take the opportunity to apologise to the ‘Happy People’, the supporters of Orlando Pirates, management and everyone who likes the club, it’s not the result this club deserves, you can’t lose twice to Kaizer Chiefs in one season,” said Ncikazi after the game.

“I just hope they still trust the processes that we have a team, that all eleven players injured who were regulars previous season, they also understand that there was a change in leadership in between the season.”

“So one, without making any excuses, the supporters of Orlando Pirates, management, don’t deserve what happened. On behalf of the technical team, we’re disappointed and apologise,” continued Ncikazi.

“I hope they keep the faith and keep hope, it has to change, we must change, we can still improve and be better with time,” he concluded.
