According to a Kickoff source, despite Royal AM telling the media that the 28-year-old Letsoalo was going nowhere, a move to Orlando Pirates could still happen as the star attacker is said to be unsettled at the KwaZulu-Natal side.
Letsoala has reportedly met with Royal AM management on more than one occasion to express his desire to continue his career elsewhere.
Royal AM are owned by South African socialite Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize while her extravagant 20-year-old son Andile Mpisane is the club chairperson.
“Pirates are interested and there were serious discussions within the management. They could submit the offer to Royal AM before midnight.
“They are prepared to send some players to Royal AM as part of the swap-deal. If the deal doesn’t work out now, they will look at doing it at the end of the season,” said the source.
Letsoalo, as reported by The South African website, was spotted in Johannesburg earlier this month for talks with both Orlando Pirates and their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
Victor Letsoalo is reportedly worth a cool R11.7 million
Letsoalo has scored nine goals in 15 DStv Premiership appearances this season for Royal AM, placing him second in the race for the Golden Boot award behind Mamelodi Sundowns’ Peter Shalulile.
According to the reputable Transfermarkt website, Letsoalo is worth €675 000 (R11.7 million).
