Orlando Pirates brace for potential international offers as players like Thalente Mbatha catch the eye of Sunderland in Europe

Orlando Pirates are reportedly anticipating offers for some of their star players, as clubs abroad show growing interest.

Over the past year, a number of Pirates players have been linked with moves overseas.

Among the players receiving attention are Relebohile Mofokeng, Evidence Makgopa, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Patrick Maswanganyi, Thabiso Sesane, Mohau Nkota, and Thalente Mbatha.

Mbatha, in particular, has caught the eye of an unnamed English Championship side, thanks to his impressive performances both at Pirates and on the international stage.

Sunderland’s Interest in Thalente Mbatha

Mbatha’s rise has been remarkable since he joined Pirates as a surprising signing last January.

His consistent performances have made him a key player for the team, and his international career has flourished as well, scoring two goals for Bafana Bafana.

According to reports, Sunderland is the English club showing interest in the talented player.

Scouts from the club have reportedly been keeping a close eye on his performances in the CAF Champions League and his international appearances.

If Sunderland, or another top-tier European club, pursues him, Pirates are reportedly looking to secure at least R20 million for the defensive midfielder.

Will Thalente Mbatha Stay at Pirates?

Despite growing interest from abroad, recent reports suggest that it is unlikely Mbatha will leave Pirates during the current transfer window.

His agent, Mike Makaab, has dismissed the rumors, stating that the speculation surrounding the player’s potential move abroad is untrue.

Pirates fans are eager to know whether their star player will remain with the team or make the move to Sunderland.
