Onome Ebi dismisses connection with Rivers Angels

Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi has dismissed as a mere fabrication, news linking her to NWFL Premiership giants Rivers Angels.

The social media was on Tuesday awash with news that the experienced defender was in talks with Angels ahead of the season-ending Super Six Playoff this month.

The defender, in a chat with www.tobexmedia.com has however dismissed such claims as a mere fabrication which has no substance in it.

“I have received many calls regarding the story and I wondered where it emanated from. I must say though that the story gave itself away. It was just a fabricated gossip and nothing more than that,” said the five-time World Cup participant.

The 38-year old added that she is fully focused for now on joining the rest of her teammates for the national team training tour ahead of July’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria will face arch rivals South Africa in their opening game of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
