Ola Aina Named Nottingham Forest Player of the Month for September

Nigerian defender Ola Aina has earned the title of Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Month for September, taking over from fellow countryman Taiwo Awoniyi, who claimed the honor in August.

Aina secured this accolade by receiving 40 percent of the votes from fans, owing to his outstanding performance throughout September.

During the assessed month, Aina featured in three matches for Nottingham Forest. The Tricky Trees secured a remarkable 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, played to a 1-1 draw against Burnley at the City Ground, and suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Aina, 26 years old, arrived at Forest on a free transfer following his departure from Torino. Since joining the club, he has firmly established himself as a valuable asset, participating in five Premier League games in the current season.

Known for his versatility as a full-back capable of playing on either flank, Aina has demonstrated his adaptability by performing on both the left and right sides of the defense, consistently delivering strong performances.

While he missed Nottingham Forest’s most recent match against Brentford on Sunday, Aina is expected to return for their upcoming clash against Crystal Palace at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.

Reflecting on his experience as a Nottingham Forest player, Ola Aina expressed his satisfaction, stating, “It’s been fun. I’ve enjoyed every bit of it so far.

The staff, the players, the city itself, it’s been really good to me so far, and long may it continue. I was the first to arrive this summer, and it was fun, I had Taiwo and Emmanuel Dennis here, who I know from Nigeria, I knew Morgan and Harry Toffolo too, so it was smooth sailing.”
