The Okafor family of Umuokpaleri, Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikola Local Government Area of Anambra state has thanked God at Saint Theresa’s Catholic church Enugwu-Ukwu for a successful burial ceremony of their late mother, Late Mrs Beatrice Okafor who died recently at the age of seventy-six.
Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that in a homely, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor who paid a pastoral visit to the Church, charged Christians to be closer to God this season of Christmas and to emulate the humble nature of Christ, as according to him, humility attracts God’s blessings and promotion.
Most Reverend Ezeokafor asked Christians to learn to do good and uphold their faith at all times.
In an interview, the first son of late Ezinne Okafor, Chief Anthony Okafor said that their late mother loved and believed so much in all her children till her death, and promised to ensure that the bond her mother created amongst them is maintained and sustained.
The only daughter of the deceased, Dr Chioma Ugochukwu thanked God for the life of her late mother whom she described as a unique mother who single handedly trained her and her other five siblings after their father’s demise, and prayed for the eternal repose of her soul.
Saint Theresa’s church Enugwu-Ukwu during the mass, marked it’s silver jubilee, and two hundred and nine persons also received the sacrament of confirmation.
