Fighting Corruption as a Priority:

Baba-Ahmed highlighted the significance of combating corruption, stating that it serves as the root cause of insecurity, societal corruption, and the erosion of values in Nigeria.

He suggested that if President Tinubu effectively curbs corruption both within the government and among the populace, the issue of insecurity could be resolved within a relatively short period.

The Role of Bright Minds in Tackling Corruption:

The NEF spokesman expressed hope that President Tinubu would surround himself with knowledgeable individuals who can contribute innovative ideas to combat corruption.

The inclusion of such bright minds could potentially strengthen the government’s efforts to address this critical issue and foster a more accountable and transparent administration.

As a result, the NEF distanced itself from the publication and all its implications, emphasizing that it was solely the personal opinion of Dr Hakeem Baba Ahmed.

Conclusion:

The Northern Elders Forum’s disavowal of the publication against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by its Director of Advocacy and Publicity, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, clarifies that the views expressed in the publication are not representative of the NEF’s stance.
