The Nigerian community in the United Kingdom is grappling with sorrow following the untimely death of Saheed Wahab, who tragically passed away just a day after relocating to pursue his master’s degree.
Promising Start Cut Short
Saheed Wahab, identified as a student at Teesside University, UK, had arrived on January 15, 2024, with aspirations for academic excellence.
However, the promising student’s dreams were cut short when he reportedly succumbed to an unfortunate incident on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
Community Confirmation and Bereavement
Confirming the devastating news, the Nigerian community released an official statement through its official channels.
Expressing their condolences, the community revealed that it has extended support to the bereaved family and received permission to organize burial arrangements.
Statement on Saheed Wahab’s Passing
In the official statement, the community expressed deep sadness over the loss of Mr. Saheed Wahab.
The statement acknowledged his arrival to commence an MSc qualification and highlighted the unfortunate turn of events that led to his passing on Tuesday afternoon in Teesside.
Prayers and Funeral Arrangements
The community invoked prayers, stating, “May Almighty Allah forgive his sins and accept his return.”
Additionally, efforts have been made to connect with Saheed Wahab’s wife and family members in Nigeria.
The family has granted permission for the community to facilitate funeral services in the UK.
Funeral Service and Janazah Arrangement
The statement outlined the funeral arrangements, noting that the Janazah (funeral) is scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Jamia Masjid Al Madina, 133a Waterloo Rd, Middlesbrough TS1 3JB.
The community remains united in grief as it navigates the solemn task of bidding farewell to a fellow countryman who embarked on a hopeful educational journey that ended in tragedy.
