Army’s Role in Community Services

Speaking through Garrison Commander Col. Legborsi Nule, Brig. Gen. Aminu explained, “We use the celebration to reach out to our immediate environment, our host communities to render services to them so that they will understand that the Nigerian army is not all about fighting war and battles but also to offer services and utilities.”

The clean-up initiative served as a message to the community that the army is committed to building society and working together with the people.

Bridging the Gap between the Army and the Community

Brig. Gen. Aminu acknowledged the existing gap between the army and its immediate environment and emphasized that activities like the clean-up initiative help bridge that gap.

He stated, “It is a message to the people that we are part of the government to build the society and let people know that we are here as part of them, we are here as brothers and sisters.”

Remembrance and Reflection

Brig. Gen. Aminu highlighted that NADCEL also provided an opportunity to remember the personnel who had made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their duty.
